FROM PRISON TO PRAISE, JANIE IS A TESTIMONY OF GOD'S AMAZING GRACE.
Even though Janie Burkett was raised in a pastor's home, as a teenager she chose a life of bulimia, drug addiction, and alcoholism which eventually lead her to prison at the age of twenty-two. After eighteen months in prison she was paroled still dealing with her addictions. On December the 18th, 2008, Janie was given a forty year prison sentence for breaking her probation. By God's miraculous power, six weeks later Janie's sentence was over turned and she was sent to Teen Challenge where she found salvation, healing, and deliverance.
After Teen Challenge, Janie was offered an internship with best-selling author and speaker, Shannon Ethridge in the BLAST (Building, Leaders, Authors, Speakers & Teachers) twelve month mentorship program. Janie completed the program which provided her with the tools that she needed to become the author and speaker she is today.
Janie has written a book, "Unshackled, A Road To Freedom" and God has opened the door for her to speak in churches, rehabs, prisons and other outreach venues. Janie has been featured on several television spots including "Life Today with James and Betty Robinson", CBN's "700 Club" as well as Daystar TV's "Live with Marcus & Joni Lamb" and "Joni Table Talk". Janie is a certified Life Coach, earning her credentials from Light University. Her passion is to help young women and their families who are affected by addiction. Janie is the Co-founder & Vice President of Janie's House of Hope - a thirteen month faith-based recovery center to help those struggling with addiction.
Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
